Whether exploring your local region, or embarking on journeys to the far reaches of the earth, there are literally millions of places in the world that one can visit during a lifetime.
Each have their own reasons for being memorable: stunning scenery; historic landmarks; people and culture; cuisine.
I’ve been lucky to have had many opportunities to enjoy a host of new and exciting places, experience aspects of cultures such as food and sport, and develop knowledge of the past through stories and monuments that help to document pivotal moments in history.
From continental football trips, to summer holidays and city breaks, these are some of the places I remember.
